'Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, is a digestive disorder that affects the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), the ring of muscle between the esophagus and stomach. Many people, including pregnant women, suffer from heartburn or acid indigestion caused by GERD

I am currently being treated for acid reflux, because I had a feeling like there was something stuck in my throat and my throat was tight

Hi guys.. I am currently being treated for acid reflux. I went to the doctor because I had a feeling like there was something stuck in my throat and my throat was tight. I also had burning sensations around my chest, neck and throat. I've been on my meds for 9 days now and the throat tightness and lump feeling is still there. Everytime I swallow I can feel the acid gurgling in my throat.. Anyone else experience this?

It takes forevvvvvver to feel better. Make sure you change your diet and avoid triggers. Anxiety makes it worse try to relax I know it’s hurts. Mine took about 2 mos to feel normal again. I lost weight I exercise everyday and don’t eat anything except boring foods.

Do you still have throat tightness or trouble swallowing?

Karen Salter
Yes Melinda...give it time....it takes a while to heal the damage that the acid has caused

Melinda Reed Roop Thanks Karen😊

Melinda Reed Roop it’s the worst feeling. When my first started I went to the er because I thought I had a tumour and couldn’t breath. I was fine πŸ™„ just acid reflux and anxiety. It does get better I promise. Just look after yourself. Watch your diet, exercise and relax. πŸ™‚

What meds are you on Melinda??

Melinda Reed Roop
Karen Salter omeprazole.. Twice daily

Yes but give it time. It took two weeks for the medication to work.

Medication with the diet are so important. Keeping your food/drinks to luke warm, avoid anything hard like a biscuit, eat small and your recovery will get going. If you dont change what caused it in the first place, any improvement by the medication will be short lived.
