'Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, is a digestive disorder that affects the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), the ring of muscle between the esophagus and stomach. Many people, including pregnant women, suffer from heartburn or acid indigestion caused by GERD

I used to suffer from acid reflux and I cured myself treating the cause. Hypochlorhydria or low stomach acid was causing my acid reflux/GERD.

Hi everyone, I used to suffer from acid reflux and I cured myself treating the cause. Hypochlorhydria or low stomach acid was causing my acid reflux/GERD. Low stomach acid was due zinc, b vitamins deficiency, and gastritis (inflammation). Take a look to this article about Acid Reflux/GERD:

'' As I see it the causal factors to acid reflux may be due to a combination of insufficient oxygen to the parietal cell mitochondria and insufficient CO2 in the blood. Other contributing factors may be a zinc deficiency and deficiencies in other alkaline minerals and B vitamins.

From the Book "Chemistry of Man" by Bernard Jensen, we read: When oxygen is insufficient, digestion is poor and food is not assimilated properly; this encourages overeating because nourishment is needed.

From "The complete Book of Minerals for Health" by J.I. Rodale and Staff, we read ... there is evidence that lack of B vitamins can bring about a lack of digestive juices in the stomach. And also, ... if the diet is lacking in vitamin B1, B2, niacin, pantothenic acid or choline, the stomach is unable to secrete sufficient hydochloric acid to dissolve iron.''

Did you use Betaine HCL with pepsine ??

Luis Capellan
Yes, it helps to ionize acid dependent minerals like zinc and others...

Bartosz Szperkowski
Is this good ? Which other minerals ?

Luis Capellan
I used to take that one from SOLARAY but becareful... I'd rather take small dose (200-350mg) of Betaine HCL or it can worse your acid reflux.

Bartosz Szperkowski
But 1 capsule contains 650 MG of Betaina and 162 Mg Pepsina . So only half ?

Tenzin Qchok How did you diagnose that you have low stomach acid?

Ian Grigg
Interesting - that's the main reason I have refused ppi' s at the moment.... My grandfather used to take hydrochloric acid tablets as he has insufficient stomach acid, but you go to a go these days and they say you have too much and offee medication without checking you properly. My father has also developed reflux in recent years so I wonder if it is hereditary.

Don N Mary
I wondered too if reflex/gerd is hereditary. Now that I think back on my mom's stomach issues I think she may have had it
