'Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, is a digestive disorder that affects the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), the ring of muscle between the esophagus and stomach. Many people, including pregnant women, suffer from heartburn or acid indigestion caused by GERD

Who has stomach ulcer or chronic gastritis?

Who has stomach ulcer or chronic gastritis? What are you taking and how do you manage the symptoms?

Bryan Cotherman
I'm not diagnosed with anything yet, but I have heartburn all the time, and I take Omeprazole for it.

Renee Whiteside
Super bland diet. Don’t vary from it. I take ranitidine (otc) and periodic galviscon. It could take weeks/months for your symptoms to heal but hang in there with a very low acid diet is your best bet. And, see a GI specialist if you have not already done so.

Bronwyn Robins
Chronic Gastritis (and a raft of other stomach issues) so far AIP Diet has been my winner, Fastract was pretty good, Fodmaps alone did nothing but worsen symptoms. Whenever I add back more foods inflammation and chronic pain returns 😞 Slippery elm has been helpful too.

Godelyn Sadiua Ricana
What is AIP diet?

Bronwyn Robins
Godelyn Sadiua Ricana Autoimmune Protocol - it basically removes any inflammatory foods; no dairy, grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, nightshades or refined sugar. Operates as an elimination diet and then has a protocol of how to reintroduce/test foods.

Susan Payne
AIP diet made me puke my guts out repeatedly but it was mainly because of all the meat and organ meats. When I cut out red meat I stopped vomiting 3-4 x a week

Bronwyn Robins
Oh no Susan, I did have to make sure I wasn’t exceeding about 120 grams of meat in total per day and watch my Histamine levels. What style of eating has worked best for you?

Wendra Arya
if only the ulcer, do the fast, then the ulcer you will recover completely.

Godelyn Sadiua Ricana
What do you mean, do the fast?

Wendra Arya
fasting like the religion of Islam, eating and drinking hours 03.00am and 06.00pm, during fasting hours, should not eat and drink.

Godelyn Sadiua Ricana
Wendra Arya oh okay. fasting it is.

Wendra Arya
by fasting, our stomach will be empty and repair the damaged, but it will be painful in the first week, but so on you will get used to it.

Diane Zammuto-Caci
Wendra Arya when are the fasting hours? You mean from 3:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. , which is all day without food or liquids? So when do we eat with this? After 6:00 p.m.? We are not supposed to eat after 6:00 p.m. not good for digestion..supposed to eat 4 hours before bed.

Wendra Arya
Diane Zammuto-Caci but that is the fasting time of Islamic religion in Indonesia, but you can adjust the time.

D Krause Meyers
I have both IBS and GERD acid reflux..good thing they are same diet foods...

My sister had chronic ulcer , two weeks just spleeping because she couldn't do any kind of work. After check up her doctor asked whether she uses alcohol or not but she does not use . Dose given made her eat everything. Right now no limitation of foods she eats everything ( pepper , beans etc) but the dose was made by natural herbs. Just one month to recover .

Kristen Cardell
I have a “doozie” stomach ulcer and one in my esophagus. Taking omperazole and a med for nausea. I may do the fasting because everything I eat irritates my stomach and comes up more so when I brush my teeth.
