'Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, is a digestive disorder that affects the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), the ring of muscle between the esophagus and stomach. Many people, including pregnant women, suffer from heartburn or acid indigestion caused by GERD

acid reflux causes me a lot of upper abdominal discomfort, pain, nausea and spasticity

Could I have gastroparesis? I belch a lot after eating and even when I don't eat. I feel full longer than usual after eating as well. I notice I feel my worst when the vagus nerve is irritated or possibly damaged by acid reflux and causes me a lot of upper abdominal discomfort, pain, nausea and spasticity. I commonly feel my stomach jumping and pushing food back up my throat when I belch or even when I don't have gas in my stomach. My digestive system is a mess and I can't even get an endoscopy yet, according to my gastroenterologist, because I haven't seen a psychiatrist about the anxiety I have (it's an automatic form of anxiety that happens without triggers). I found that to be strange and disheartening, since it's been a year since my last endoscopy and I feel even worse now than I did then.

Wow. Almost me to the T. Sorry you have to deal with this. I have very bad health anxiety. I've always had anxiety but ever since I got infected with h.pylori ( or so the tests showed ) almost a year ago, it's been a nightmare.
I feel bloated all. The. Time.... I get full so easily and stay full. And today my reflux was so bad I could throw up without gagging. Just by trying to burp stuff would come up.
One of my doctors when straight to anxiety. And since I suffer from sleep problems ( always feel tired and not rested ) my neurologist doesn't think that could be just anxiety.
Idk. I'm lost and alone and the only thing I can think about is cancer

Eliminate all wheat and dairy products from ur diet for at least three months. U will get better.

Everyone keeps saying that. Even when I don't eat, it hurts. It's not just the reflux, but the hernia I had repaired. I haven't been eating much of anything as of late.

Are you on a PPI? I had gastroparesis until I switched off a PPI to Zantac

Alex P. Reed
I take protonix and Nexium

Kira England
Yeah I guarantee that's the problem, you're not making enough acid to digest your food
