I've had bad acid reflux for about 3 years now and about a year ago was diagnosed with gerd

Hello, thanks for the add! I've had bad acid reflux for about 3 years now and about a year ago was diagnosed with gerd. Have an an endoscopy about 6 months ago and nothing too serious was seen besides esophagus being redish and raw. Have been trying to eat right and have books am reading to help with this, am in pain everyday since this gerd and gas has been coming like musical notes in my throat is sucks, it's painful. Ppi's don't seem to help and am just afraid of getting esophageal cancer in years to come. Am about to see a doctor again to see if there's anything they can do besides telling me to watch what I eat. Any helpful tips or advice would be well appreciated! Maybe it just takes time to adjust to this life style change of food intake. Am just so thankful there's a group like this on Facebook I can express these thoughts to. Thank you admin for accepting me request.

i'm still on ppi's after 6 years, (it's hard to get off the things because of rebound), but I had got much worse with worsening reflux , allergies and painful throat until I found out that leaky gut caused by the medication that lowers your acid which allows bad bacteria to get out of control, had also caused Hashimotos. I take probiotics, Arabanogalactan powder, (mixed in kefir lassi with stevia and fruit and rice milk) it's an amazing prebiotic that heals the GI tract and immune system, and coconut oil three times a day with a warm drink, (melt in the mouth), it kills bad bacteria and supports the thyroid. No gluten or soy, either, they are terrible for the gut.

oh, and Aloe vera gel straight from the plant protects and heals.

How do you prepare aloe vera?

Michaela Villiers-Kendall
You cut open the leaf and eat it straight, follow with water. Hard to swallow at first, but so well worth it--you can feel it coat the raw tissue.

Haven't taken much probiotics much but actually at wallgreens now and buying some acidophilus. Hopefully helps a bit, and all the best wishes to your health as well. Thanks for the advice!

You're welcome, I know how bad this is. Get a broad spectrum of probiotics though, and you can get the Larch powder from iherb on line.

Nice, ok I'll check it out. Really just been using cough drops and antacid medication which barely helps. I'm sure the probiotics will help some hopefully. Been seriously considering going vegetarian as well. Only been eating skinless chicken for meats and fish.

whats the best probiotics to take please

Jake Keesling
I'm taking acidophilus at the moment but there's a wide range of kind. Would recommend researching kinds that your local pharmacy may carry near you. For the best would probably be ordered online if your local pharmacy doesn't carry it.

Can I just ask about the coconut oil in warm milk, obviously the coconut oil disolves in the milk then you drink it?
